About Me
Hello! I'm Mridhul Nair Baskaran, an Electrical Engineer and Solar Car Enthusiast from Malaysia, currently pursuing my undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Professional Background
Since my freshman year in Fall 2021, I have been actively involved in Badger Solar Racing, a solar car club at UW Madison dedicated to fostering innovation and hands-on experience. Our goal is to build a solar car and compete in the Formula Sun Grand Prix and the American Solar Car Challenge.
At the start of my journey with Badger Solar Racing, I joined the high voltage team, where I gained invaluable knowledge and skills in hardware design. In 2022, I took on the role of Powertrain Team Lead, guiding the team in designing a printed circuit board responsible for safely switching on the car. In 2023, as the Electrical Director, I led the development of the entire electrical system for our solar car, gearing up for the Formula Sun Grand Prix 2024 and the American Solar Car Challenge 2024.
Inner Journey and Personal Interests
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to my inner well-being. I am a daily yoga practitioner, dedicating a minimum of one and a half hours each day to Isha Yoga practices as taught by Sadhguru, a yogi, mystic, and visionary. My unwavering commitment to inner well-being over the past two years led me to complete the Upa-Yoga (Sub-Yoga) Teacher Training with the Isha Foundation in April 2024. Isha Foundation is an international non–profit organization dedicated to cultivating human wellbeing and founded by Sadhguru. Since then, I have conducted several classes in the Madison area, sharing the benefits of these practices with the community.
